This School for the Intellectually Challenged was established in 2009 providing rehabilitation services to special needs children, free of cost and irrespective of caste, creed, sex and religion.

Their work includes identifying special needs children at an early age and improving their cognitive, communication and social skills. They provide free of cost education, therapies and training for underprivileged children with special needs. Parental counseling is also done to motivate the parent and help them accept and support the child as well as prepare them to face the challenges that arise with a special needs child both at home and in the community at large.

The society is registered under National Trust for the welfare of persons with autism, cerebral palsy, mentally challenged and multiple disabilities.

The present strength of this special school is 55 trainees out of which free education and lunch is offered to almost 35 beneficiaries who are economically backward. To name a few needs the differently abled children need OT, Physiotherapy, Speech Therapy and Vocational training on a regular basis. Maintaining the monthly expenditure has become a challenge for the school.

Dr Mujahid Syed, DAANA BOD has personally visited this place in Guntur city and has seen the exemplary and selfless work being done first hand. We discussed this noble project in BOD meetings of DAANA and DAA and voted in favor of supporting at least 10 children on an yearly basis for the next three years. We are looking for the sponsorship of these special children from our generous DAANA alumni. We also intend to involve our alumni directly with the school in whatever capacity they can in training or supporting the children and and so that they feel connected to DAANA & DAA projects.

Each special child requires Rs 3700 per month and Rs 44, 400 per year (about $ 615). If we pledge to support at least 10 children then the expenditure is Rs 37, 000 per month and Rs 4.4 lakh per year, i.e about $6150/year.
