MYANMAR (BURMA) ROHINGYA CRISIS

The ongoing Rohingya crisis in Myanmar (Burma) is a catastrophic humanitarian emergency. It is estimated that more than 700,000 people have fled from Myanmar to neighboring Bangladesh to escape the ethnic strife that has claimed thousands of innocent lives. Kutupalong and Nayapara camps are now sadly the largest refugee camps in the world. Those who have escaped are in need of urgent help and resources are very limited. Several DAANA/DCMS physicians have traveled to Cox’s Bazar, Bangladesh to offer medical and humanitarian relief in the refugee camps. DAANA Rohingya Mission

DAANA has partnered with a couple of organizations to help Rohingya refugees in Bangladesh, namely One Ummah Foundation and Hope Foundation. We have verified the credentials of both these organizations and are in direct communication with their founders and board members. In addition to offering food, water and shelter for refugees these organizations are also involved in construction of an orphanage and a permanent hospital in Cox’s Bazar, Bangladesh. More details of the projects being undertaken by these foundations are available on their respective websites.
